DEFRA approved traditional cast iron stoves for use in smokeless zones

Durable and robust cast iron stoves

In Scandanavia and North America where stoves have been used for generations, the best quality units are manufactured from cast iron. Here the knowledge and usage of cast iron stoves is second to none and most problems concerning thermal expansion, acid attack, condensation and corrosion have been satisfactorily overcome.

Good quality cast iron stoves have greater durability, better heat retention and longevity, as well as a huge variety of traditional shapes and contemporary styles; they are also available in rich vitreous enamel colours.

Cast iron stoves suffer from the drawback that they are associated with higher production costs, but this should be weighed against the increased economic benefits of buying a quality stove that should last a lifetime.

BE WARNED: Low cost, unproven Far East manufactured and imported stoves are usually manufactured from cast iron, but give none of the benefits of their superior quality Western equivalents…..you get what you pay for!
